This course covers basic patient assessment, how to stop bleeding, escape animal attacks, predict weather patterns, survive lightning and flash floods, manage Hot-Cold injuries, treat water, handle basic wilderness medicine emergencies and kits, and more.
This is a self study course for certification that uses a textbook, podcasts, videos, and practice exams to learn. Average study time is 3-4 hours. Official certification through the University of Utah School of Medicine is valid for three years.
